Precautions (Trigger warnings & content)
Some stories explore sensitive themes that may cause discomfort, revive difficult memories, or simply not be suitable for all readers.
To allow you to choose your reading with complete peace of mind, we have implemented a Trigger Warnings & Content section on our product pages .
We prepare our warnings carefully, but some sensitive substances can still escape our notice.
Trigger Warnings (TW)
Warning intended to prevent content that may provoke an intense emotional reaction related to trauma (e.g., sexual violence, bereavement, self-harm...).
Content
A more general warning about sensitive, potentially disturbing, but not necessarily traumatic themes (e.g., fatphobia, infidelity, racism, gaslighting…).
For complete vigilance, we invite each reader to check trigger warnings and content directly with the author, publisher or other reliable sources.
But you also have the option of going in blind and not opening this section.
Magic formulas (Tropes)
A trope is a narrative pattern, a recurring situation or motif.
which we find in stories.
In romance, it's these familiar little ingredients that make the heart beat faster and that we love to come back to again and again.
Why is this important?
Because tropes guide the reader even before the story begins.
They allow the reader to grasp the type of relationship, the emotional path and the tone the reader is about to discover.
They are not clichés, but points of reference: elements that inspire desire, which reassure, which guide, and which create the thrill of anticipation.
Choosing a romance novel based on its trope, it's about choosing the emotional journey you want to experience.
Where can I find them at Book's Apothecary?
On our Remedies page, the tropes are indicated in the "Book Details" section.
They allow you to identify at a glance the narrative dynamic that awaits you, so you can choose the book that best suits your mood or according to your current desires.
