Article 1: Scope of Application

These general terms and conditions of sale apply to all sales concluded through the Books' Apothecary website – SIREN: 992 351 023.

Article 2: Orders

For any order placed on our website, your order is recorded as soon as it is submitted. We will verify its integrity and inform you, if necessary, of any non-compliance while proposing a replacement solution.

Article 3: Availability of Items

Prices and any promotional offers displayed on our website remain valid as long as they are visible. The product availability indicated at the time of the customer's visit is provided for reference only.

We cannot be held responsible for stock shortages in our bookstore or from our suppliers for any product offered on this site.

We will remove any product from our website as soon as we are informed by its supplier of a permanent stock shortage. In all other situations, we may, with the customer's agreement, reorder the missing item.

If a product in your order is unavailable, the customer will be informed by email or on the invoice listing the items shipped in the case of an order with multiple products.

Article 4: Prices

The prices shown in euros are considered net, excluding shipping costs. Items are billed based on the price in effect at the time the order is recorded. Books are sold in compliance with all applicable regulations, in particular the Lang Law regarding fixed book pricing, which is set by the publisher (excluding shipping costs).

The total price is payable in full, in a single payment, at the time of ordering. All orders are billed and payable in euros. For deliveries outside mainland France, any customs duties or local taxes remain the responsibility of the recipient. In the case of order pickup at the bookstore, payment upon collection may be accepted.

Article 5: Shipping Costs

Shipping costs depend on the rates applied by the selected carrier and are the responsibility of the buyer.

Article 6: Payment

How to pay for your order?

By credit card (Carte Bleue, Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard), by entering directly into the secure SSL-encrypted payment form the card number (without spaces), expiration date, and security code.

Article 7: Delivery

Deliveries are made to the address indicated on the order form.

Article 8: Withdrawal Period

You have the right to withdraw from all or part of your order within 14 days.

This period begins on the date of receipt of the last part of your order.

You may exercise your right of withdrawal through our contact form.

Article 9: Product Quality – Product Compliance

Products sold by us are new or second-hand depending on the selected item and are guaranteed free from defects at the time they leave our shop. In the event that a defective product is received, it is the customer's responsibility to return it to us as soon as possible, and no later than 14 days after receiving the parcel, along with the invoice.

Return shipping costs are your responsibility. The replacement of the defective product will be carried out as quickly as possible, and no later than one month after we receive the returned item. If the item is no longer available, it will be refunded within 15 days following the customer's claim.

Article 10: Transfer of Ownership – Transfer of Risk

Ownership of the products is transferred to the customer only after full payment of the order, regardless of the delivery date.

However, the transfer of risk (loss, damage) occurs upon delivery and receipt of the products by the customer.

Article 11: Data Protection

You will be asked to provide certain information when placing an order on our website. We guarantee the confidentiality of this data. We do not sell our databases to anyone. The information you provide is used solely to process your order in the best interest of both parties.

The digital files managed by our bookstore are registered with the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority). The processing of your personal data complies with the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978. You have the right to access, modify, or oppose the use of your personal data at any time. Simply contact us by postal mail with your complete contact details.

Article 12: Liability

The products listed in the databases available on our website rely on information provided by our suppliers. We cannot be held responsible for their content; the authors and/or creators assume full legal responsibility for their work.

The products offered comply with French legislation. We decline all responsibility if the delivered item violates the laws of the destination country (censorship, banned titles or authors, etc.).

Our bookstore cannot be held liable for failure to perform the sales contract due to a force majeure event (strike, flood, fire, etc.).
We also disclaim responsibility for the content of websites to which hyperlinks from our site may lead.

Article 13: Applicable Law

All clauses in these general terms and conditions of sale, as well as all purchase and sales operations referenced herein, are subject to French law.

Article 14: Customer Acceptance

These general terms and conditions of sale, along with pricing, are expressly acknowledged and accepted by the customer, who declares having full knowledge of them. The customer therefore waives any right to invoke contradictory documents, in particular their own terms of purchase. Completing a purchase constitutes acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale.
